SMS text message opt-in & consent

This page shows exactly how end users agree to receive SMS text messages from FrontDesk Intelligence and participating clinics. SMS consent is collected separately from our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Opt-in touchpoint 1 — Web form with SMS consent checkbox

When a patient provides their mobile number on a clinic contact form, they must check a box to explicitly agree to receive SMS text messages before any texts are sent. This is separate from accepting the Privacy Policy.

Opt-in touchpoint 2 — Pre-call disclosure (before dialing)

Where a clinic’s phone number is published (website, Google Business Profile, etc.), the following SMS disclosure is displayed next to the phone number so callers know they may receive text messages if their call is not answered:

Opt-in touchpoint 3 — SMS text message asks user to agree

After a missed call, the caller receives an SMS that explicitly asks them to agree to receive text messages. The user must reply YES to confirm SMS consent before ongoing texts are sent.

Full opt-in workflow (step by step)

  1. User sees SMS disclosure before contacting the clinic — on the clinic website contact page, contact form, or next to the published phone number (Touchpoint 1 or 2 above).
  2. User calls the clinic OR submits the web form with the SMS checkbox checked — this is the user’s affirmative action to initiate contact and agree to SMS where applicable.
  3. If the call is not answered, clinic sends consent-request SMS — an automated text to the calling number asking the user to reply YES to agree to receive SMS text messages (Touchpoint 3 above).
  4. User replies YES — this is explicit consent to receive SMS text messages about their inquiry.
  5. Ongoing SMS only after YES — scheduling texts, staff replies, and limited service reminders in the same thread. No SMS to numbers that never called or never replied YES.
  6. User may opt out anytime — reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT.

One-paragraph summary for Twilio message flow field

End users opt in to SMS text messages from FrontDesk Intelligence in three ways: (1) checking an explicit SMS consent checkbox on a web contact form (demo), (2) reading pre-call SMS disclosure next to the clinic phone number before calling (example), and (3) replying YES to a consent-request SMS after a missed call. All touchpoints include program name, message types, frequency disclosure, “Msg & data rates may apply,” and STOP/HELP instructions. Ongoing SMS is sent only after YES reply.
